Icon Marketing is a marketing and design agency offering branding, website design and production, social media marketing, videography and so much more. We are based in Papamoa which allows us to easily visit our clients around the Bay of Plenty but we also have amazing clients across the Waikato and of course Auckland. Like many businesses, 99% of our communication is via email, phone or zoom, but it’s nice to meet clients in person and we enjoy doing so when the opportunity arises.

Although we do as much as we can internally, we also use freelancers and specialists to achieve desired results. This fluid agency structure allows us to pick the right talent for each project, keep a lid on our fees, and allow a measure of work-life balance for all concerned. 

Our history – Icon Graphics to Icon Advertising to Icon Marketing

Rooted in an early nineties business called Icon Graphics (based in Tauranga), Icon Advertising was officially launched in 2007 and quickly picked up clients such as the Vodafone Warriors, Canterbury of New Zealand, Zespri AIMS Games, Southern Cross Hospitals, and Fiber Fresh Feeds. Although we found a niche in sport and educational organisations, we also enjoyed success for clients in rural, construction, healthcare and fashion marketing. Many of our client relationships date back to our inception – an indication of our ongoing delivery of great marketing and dedication to building lasting relationships.

In 2020 we changed our name from Icon Advertising to Icon Marketing to clarify that advertising is only a small part of the marketing mix we offer.

One of my awesome clients at the Vodafone Warriors referred to me as: “Russell Dye – Creative Guy”. I have to say I really like it, after all, I’m a graphic designer, copy-writer and creative director. I have over 35 years experience in the advertising and marketing field. Trained in traditional print and magazine, I am also fully conversant with all aspects of online marketing including website design, AdWords, email marketing, social media and SEO.
